WHAT IS THE LYSIWAVE MEDICAL DEVICE?
Lysiwave is an innovative system capable of performing body contouring treatments, using microwaves at a frequency of 2.45GHz.
This specific frequency selectively acts on body tissue blemishes such as cellulite, localised adiposity and skin laxity.
WHAT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF ACTION OF THE DEVICE?
Microwaves are absorbed by liquids in the cellular interstitium and by adipocytes, causing a rise in temperature, either in depth or on the surface, depending on the specific case and type of blemish. A constant flow of cold air, enriched with 90% oxygen, not only protects the skin on the surface during microwave delivery, but tones and oxygenates the tissue, which appears noticeably smoother and more supple.
The procedure has a slimming, regenerating and toning effect, which targets specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, and in some cases even under the chin, where localized adiposities generally form. As well as dissolving excess fat, it compacts and reshapes the skin by toning the tissues. The method is a more effective variant of radiofrequency treatment, for tightening and toning the skin, but it is also an excellent alternative to other body-contouring treatments such as liposuction.
WHO CAN I TURN TO FOR THE TREATMENT?
Lysiwave, being a medical device, can only be found at medical aesthetic centres that are authorised and properly trained in the use of the technology. A medical specialist, after a thorough examination, will explain the procedure and the results you can achieve.
HOW DOES LYSIWAVE WORK ON THE BODY?
The handpiece, selected according to the characteristics of the area to be treated, emits microwaves at 2.45 GHz that are gradually absorbed by the fat cells. 20 percent of the energy reaches the dermis, while the remaining 80 percent penetrates the fat, thus affecting the subcutaneous fat cells.
The flow of oxygen in its gaseous state that is delivered to the skin is able to restore and improve microcirculation and reactivate the skin’s metabolism, which might be compromised by the normal ageing processes, by pollution, by exposure to sunlight exposure to sunlight (or artificial UV rays) and by stress.
WHAT ARE THE OTHER MECHANISMS OF ACTION?
- It penetrates deeply by acting on the membranes of fat cells and promoting the release oflocalised fat deposits. The lysate, that is, the product of the breakdown of bacterial or tissue cells, is eliminated via the natural cell metabolism, i.e. lipolysis;
- It stimulates the connective tissue around the fat lobules of cellulite to counteract the hated and feared orange-peel effect typical of cellulite;
- It encourages the contraction of collagen fibres in the dermis, thus triggering the production of new collagen for fresher, more elastic skin, while leaving the tissues more toned and firm.
WHAT CAN THE RESULTS BE?
Reduction of cellulite and the “orange peel” skin effect; Removal of localised adiposity; It firms the skin and stimulates the collagen fibres in the dermis, increasing elasticity; It contributes to redefining the silhouette.
O₂ COOL-AIR
Delivery of oxygen at high concerntration uses the principle of “fractioning of ambient air”, which througha molecular sieve is able to produce a mixture of air containing oxygen in percentage of more than 90 percent.
The flow of air, cooled constantly, allows the protection of the skin, preventing the migration of heat to the surface.
LD APPLICATOR
The configuration of the LD applicator allows to selectively concentrate the dielectric activity of the microwaves on the sureface into the skin.
The thermal energy causes the contraction of the fibres of collagen in the dermis, stimulating the production of new collagen, firming and toning the tissue.
TEMPERATURE MONITORING ON SKIN
A temperature sensor, located on the emission window of the handpiece, preseres the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.
The temperature sensor dynamically controls the heating on the skin surface and disables the microwave emission when the temperature of the skin exceeds 41°C.
HD APPLICATOR
The unique technology of the HD applicator is designed to bypass the upper layers of the skin.
It is able to deliver more dielectric energy to the subcutaneous fat cells, to treat deep cellulite and promote the elimination of fat.

Th emission duration of the microwaves is controlled by the device according to the detected tempurature.

An algorithm calculates intensity based in the size of the treated area.
